What is a good child-to-staff ratio for a nursery?

Good nurseries follow the statutory EYFS ratios: 1 staff member to every 3 babies under 2, 1 to 5 children aged 2, and 1 to 8 children aged 3 to 5. Golden Kidz Daycare meets these ratios across all three rooms.

Q: What does a typical day at nursery look like?

A typical day runs 8:00am to 7pm, with the nursery closing at 7:30pm, and includes breakfast, morning circle, focused play and learning, outdoor time, a hot lunch, naps, afternoon activities and a tea-time meal, all following each child’s natural rhythm.

From cuddles in the baby room to school-ready confidence in preschool, each of our three rooms is designed around a specific stage of your child’s development.

3 to 18 months

Sunbeams (Baby Room)

A calm, cosy home-from-home where babies are nurtured on their own routines.

Individual sleep, feeding and nappy routines followed closely

18 months to 3 years

Little Explorers (Toddler Room)

Wraparound Care

Breakfast Club & After-School Club

What does a typical day at nursery look like?

A typical day at Golden Kidz Daycare runs from 8:00am to 7:00pm, with the nursery closing at 7:30pm, and blends free play, adult-led learning, outdoor time, freshly prepared meals and rest, all paced gently around each child’s individual needs.
